High School Young Artist Competition

The HSYAC is open to any flutist in grades 9–12 who has not previously won the first prize. This competition is part of the SEMFA Fall Festival. Please plan to attend the entire day of the SEMFA Festival.

Six finalists will be selected on the basis of recorded auditions. Judges will award, at their discretion, first, second and third cash prizes in the amounts of $400.00, $250.00 and $100.00

Considerations

● Previous first place winners of the HSYAC are ineligible for this competition.

● The final round is open to the public.

Finalists agree to appear at the SEMFA Festival at their own expense.

 

To Apply

● Prepare one UNEDITED HIGH QUALITY mp3 recordings of your performance to be submitted via Google Form. Edited recordings will be disqualified. 

● Fill out the Google Form https://forms.gle/6CCtReqx2Dnn6jbP8

● Pay $40.00 non-refundable application fee (along with $15 student SEMFA membership dues if you are not currently a SEMFA member) by PayPal. (The $40.00 application fee includes festival registration.) 

● On application, submit a 100-120 word bio and your final round repertoire choice.
