SEMFA Flute Choir

The SEMFA Flute Choir rehearses at Concordia University and has an exciting upcoming spring concert series. Directed by Dr. Deborah Rebeck Ash, the 18-member ensemble will participate in the SEMFA Flute Choir Festival on Saturday, March 28 in Farmington Hills where they will perform works by Respighi and Lombardo as well as the massed flute choir piece, Vaughan Williams’ "Prelude on Rhosymedre", arranged by Nancy Nourse. Later that same day they will travel to Chelsea, MI to give a full concert at the Chelsea Retirement Community Chapel which will also be live-streamed for residents who cannot attend.  In April the SEMFA Flute Choir will give a concert at Living Word Lutheran Church in Plymouth, MI. Their season will conclude on June 27 with a return concert at the lovely Greenmead Historical Park in Livonia, MI. We are indebted to past director, Chelsea Wylie, who kept the group going and catalogued the SEMFA Flute Choir Library. She will return in the fall as a performing member of the group.

The SEMFA Flute Choir is always looking for enthusiastic high school, college, adult, amateur, and professional flutists to make music with us! Performance opportunities include a performance at our Annual Festival each year as well as other appearances throughout Southeast Michigan.   SEMFA Membership is required to participate.

We are accepting new members on a rolling basis, if interested contact:
